I trading in my used EVSX300 and my Phonic powerpod 740 plus a TC Electronic M350 for a RCF 322a.

I love the sound of the 322A I alos have a RCF 310-A Art series which I have had for a while and love that too.

The 322a has a nice warm sound but has some EQ option for voice and music or just straight flat,.

What would you use , when anyone use the eq option as I said there is one for Voice and one seeting for Music, do you think if using a mixer, (I am currently using the Soundcraft emp 6 with a TC electronic M300 revebs effects) that I should use the EQ , will it add a bit of spice or would you say the eq option is more for dJ's.?

The 'music' setting cuts some of the midrange a bit, while the 'voice' setting adds a bit in this area, soo that some one using it for speeches cuts through a bit more.

Use it flat (mid point).

Hi gekco

Thanks for your advice, you are right about setting it on music ' it really does sound 'scooped'.

Havinf said that I have tried the flat but I do prefer the voice setting, its great for what I do 'vocals and guitar'

I find the voice setting really adds some spice & punch drive to the guitar and just everything a fatter sound.

It is an absolutle quality speaker , I am very pleased with it.

I liked the EV SX300 at first but went off it after a while .

I remember the early years of RCF, and not being that impressed by the sound, but I expect they have improved. I note that RCF and Db Technologies now have the same parent company, and I am highly enamoured with my Db Operas.

But I am also a huge fan of the EV SX range. Interestingly, I prefer the sound of the EV SXA100+ to the 300.

Is that the 100 watt version, don't get me wrong the SX 300 did have a nice punch to it but it was'nt quite cutting it for me on vocals.

About my RCF 322A I have gone back to using the flat setting on eq I think you are right , thats the best setting for live work, The more I am using it the more I am loving it, it outpasses my Yamaha club S1IVN by far and as its an active speaker I am using the 'Soundcraft epm 6'.

I love the way it carries the bass, I did have a DB tech before but I brought the Lyric 212 but I hear the 405's and the 402's are updated and much better/

I took the Opera lyric 212 back.

I've got a pair of the Opera 405s, which I couple with a DB sub, and it makes an awesome combination. Even so, I still reckon the SXA100+ take the cake for clarity and defintion, and they were more than capable of cutting through a crowd. My daughter stole the EVs for her rig (because they are light enough for her to carry), but I'm happy with the Operas.
