Yeah, the analog sound rules for my particular taste, too.
There's also the simple pleasure, ease of use and the natural, organic experience of analog recording & laying tracks on tape. Aaagggghhhh!!! Sorry for the cliches!

One thing for sure, is that I'm loaded to the hilt with all my favorite gear.

Thank you!
I'm always willing to help anyone with a legitimate question. Y'gotta give Ghost and Beck their due glory, too. Heh.
In my recordings, I try for a natural and true recorded sound, plain & simple. Since I work alone in a lot of cases, I want my solo tracks to come together with the cohesive illusion of a band playing together. That's not always easy. Most of all, I want my recordings to come across sounding like "me",... !!
I percieve the ideal (target) sound that I want when tracking as a raw, stark, natural, stripped, airy and acoustic recorded sound, like the unadorned sound of someone playing in a room, and use whatever mix adjustments or EQ to achieve that. I'm not into big use of efx. I'll use a pedal on guitar now & then, but there's always a mic'd element to all my electric guitar tracks.
I go for a pure, live, natural tone, which I use all my EQ and mix balancing tricks on the front end (input-side), to hopefully capture an optimal sound on tape. On the turnaround, the vast majority of my mixes are just simple "push" mixes. If I've achieved the right EQ and tone balance on the way in, hopefully the mix will not need any EQ or tinkering on the way out. What you hear on most of my stuff is the honest and true tone of what I've captured to tape,... achieved all on the input side and played back in it's "native" state, with a simple unprocess mix.
I find Ramones songs fun to listen to, and fun to bang out,... on & on! I also enjoy the satisfaction of producing a tape to listen back to later. Heck, it's (only) rock & roll.

I'm in it for fun,... and for the chicks! The Ramones Rock!

Heh.

AAWW, CRAP, I'M BLABBERING! AAAAGGGGHHH!!!
