The Ramones, like anything else, are...

Here Today, Gone Tomorrow!
This is the best hifi I've achieved on 1-7/8ips (std) speed 4-track recording,... FYI for all you tape-heads and headstresses!
I accidentally flipped the switch to Std speed for several songs.  ;)

Dang, you are fast on the uptake!!!

Thanx again,... as always!!

"Blitzkrieg Bop" has been commercialized so much that it's almost become cliche'. As for it's relation to me & my Ramones covers,... it's almost a "B"-cut compared to some of the others,... but no Ramones cover collection is complete without it!!

I have more Ramones comin' at'ya,... & maybe soon!.... ;)

man, i wish i had seen this thread sooner:

"i believe in miracles"

"psychotherapy"

It was on page 196, and I just bumped it with some new downloads!

............... ;)

Damn, dude,...

You are my hero!!!

That's an example of Ramones kick yer ass and take yer names Rock & Roll!!! And I wouldn't just say that for nothin'!

This is some seriously awesome shit,... that puts the fire back in me!! With great stuff like this just casually floating by,... it surely makes me wanna go back into the "studio" and kick off some more Ramones covers!!

I can't thank you enough for paricipating in this kickass thread!!!  ;)

Ramones covers are something I'll never get tired of!!! It's a little personall renaissance for me!!

Thanx again & keep 'em coming!!!

PS: Greg L has a new fan!!! (me) ;)

wow. lol. thank you. :)

ive been a die-hard ramones fan for 20 years now. shit, die-hard isnt even a strong enough word. my entire musical personality has been completely influenced by the ramones. im a freaking ramones junkie.

anyway, im glad you like my stuff. it means a lot coming from someone who actually knows who they are and what theyre about. when i start on a ramones cover, i feel a personal responsibility to do it as accurately and respectfully as i can. thats just me. joey, johnny, and dee dee didnt die in vain. i am eternally grateful and appreciative of the music they gave us. anyway, ive also got "KKK" and "teenage lobotomy" in various states on completion as well. stay tuned. :p

I'm just like you, man!

I think I have done upward of 30 Ramones covers, to date. (Find many of them on my Soundclick page.... linked off my user name!!! ) Wait,... oh yeah,... linked directly off this tread!!! Like,... DUH!!!

For whatever you just said,... those are my exact sentiments, too!!!

I could listen to the Ramones nonstop, all day, every day & never get tired of 'em! A large percentage of the covers I'd ever wanna do are Ramones covers, and I'll keep cranking 'em out, till the day I die! (Which hopefully shouldn't be for a long, long time!) I've not "produced" anything in a while,... but I plan to do so again, shortly!

I don't think the Ramones died in vain. Although they never got the popularity or recognition they deserved in their heyday, they're bonifide Rock & Roll Hall of Fame'rs, and they gave endless happiness, enjoyment and inspiration to countless others,... of which you & I count ourselves among.

Yeah, baby! GABBA GABBA HEY!!

cool. they have so many great songs, i cant ever decide on a new one to do.

i think 'smash you' will probably be my next one. i love that song.

I have only one Ramones cover on tape that's not mixed down yet,...

from last year. It doesn't really require "mixing down" per se, but it needs to be dubbed to the 'puter. I'm a little behind on little projects like that.

There are SO MANY GREAT SONGS in the Ramones' catalog. It is tough to decide which one to cover next! ;)

There's no stopping the Cretins from hopping!

Cretin Hop! ;)

Recorded on 4/19 & 4/21/01 on the Tascam 424mkII @ 1x-Speed/dbx, using SM-57 mics. This song started the entire 'Ramones Tribute Sessions' of 2001, only 4 days after the death of Joey Ramone. You can practically hear the sorrow, joy and tragedy in my voice on this one.   :(

This one's my newest recording, just mixed yesterday!

I Want You Around!

Recorded in 02/05 on the Tascam 244. Mixed on 11/18/06.
An incomplete work in progress. ;)
