cranky..I'd switch brands of beer....or lay off the beans....no farts here, or on the other tunes either...;)

as usual, very good musicmanship.

I dont think that your vocal channel is the right one, for some reason. It sounds a bit blah, maybe too clean.

Everything else is pretty much on the money.

Funk on!

Okay, I apologise for my comments about the 'farting' sounds. I listened to the song again using 'download' from NWR. It doesn't 'fart' anymore. So the MediaPlayer distorted the music somehow. I don't know if it's only my problem, or if it's related to some streaming glitch. Once I got to listen to the song without farts it sounded great! :)

just to say

I downloaded this one the other day. fantastic track. The arrangment was just amazing, with perfect accoustic guitars. You never did tell how you record them. I thought that perhaps the singing was not your finest but I like the style loads. Anay, I thought it was tip top. Erland

CrankyOne: Thanks, glad you got the farting sounds sorted out!

CyanJaguar: It's one of those tunes that are harder to sing for me, I'm not thrilled with the vocal sound or performance but sometimes I just say fuck it.

Erland: Thanks Erland, the acoustics were either recorded with an NT-1 or a MXL V67G, it was a few months ago.

Riku: I get that a lot. Thanks for the listen!

Yup, my first time listening to an Emeric classic, and I'm not disappointed in the least. You have as much talent as the majority of us put together -or- you suck, asshole, err...sorry bout that. Yeah so really freaking great track. You've obviously got looooooooads of talent, and are so much better of a producer than I am so I won't even bother ctitiquing much, cept to say that I too wish the organ came into play more, that the roatation is a it to wide, and that I'm glad I got the B4 too, cause it sounds great in action. So, great work, I'm off to get your other stuff too, keep em comin man!

Another great effort, Emeric. The only weakness you seem to have is your singing voice, and even that isn't all that weak... terrific guitar playing, terrific writing, terrific engineering chops...

I hate you!

Thanks laj35. B4 is a great plugin, have barely used it much as keys are not one of my strong points. It needs some tweaking for sure, if I can find someone who actually plays keys I might redo it with bits of it throughout rather than just the start.

Alchuck: Appreciate the comments. Yes, the vocals are weak. Really depends on the song like with anyone, whether they will be workable or not, some better than others, some worse. Sometimes better to just get it done. At least that's my excuse.

Haven't heard much of yours lately, what's up?

Really great tune!
Definatly have that Badfinger sound goin on!

Guitars sound great, and that acoustic is sweeeeet!
How did you record it?

I dig your voice too, perfect for this style of music.

Cool stuff,
Pete

Emeric,

Thanks for asking... I've been really spreading myself thin. Bought a Cort Larry Coryell signature model archtop in March and I've been on a jazz kick since, woodshedding like mad. Working on a couple of originals that are close to being done, and a Frank Zappa cover with DavidK, and an odd medley of the Meters' "Cissy Strut" and Wayne Shorter's "Mysterious Traveler." Trying to write some music for a few film clips to put together a calling card/demo for trying to land a scoring gig. Too many irons...

About your voice, there's something really interesting about it, a very distinctive quality, that I think often works very well. Have you ever worked hard on the singing, or is it just the way it falls out? I bet if you did work on it you'd become more consistent.

I really wish I could sing, I really want to, but every time I record myself singing it sounds terrible... sigh...

Great tune --

Around 3:30, I thought it was getting a bit long, but the jam at the end is fun. The solo git toward 3:45 is thin -- and has too many notes, but I like minimalist stuff.

I really like the organ at the beginning. Ditto others' comments on the vocals.

The Question is a lot of fun!

Thanks Pete/Muzeman. The guitars were either an NT1 or a V67G, foot or so infront of a Guild acoustic.

AlChuck: Sounds like you have lots of the go! Woodshedding is cool.

As for singing, no I don't practice it, only during the recordings and maybe jamming it solo on acoustic. I probably should more.

As for your singing, anyone can sing, just keep working at it.

I'm gonna check out your tune now.
