OK,I have imported 16 wav files into my computer from my VF 16 and inserted them in N-tracks.

They play just fine,mixing is fine,effects are fine.

NOW I wanna mix these tracks down to a 2 track master Wav file.

The song Im mixing has about 5 seconds at the beginning of the song on ALL tracks that I dont need.Just a little silence and a count before I start the song.
How do I get rid of this first 5 seconds on all of the tracks and just start the 2 Track mixdown from 3 seconds of silence before the song kicks in?

And,how do I fade the song out at the end on all tracks and then get rid of all data on all tracks after the fade is done?(When I tracked this song on the VF 16 I recorded an extra 60 seconds for extended solo'ing etc....I dont need all of that on this particualr mixdown.

Am I making any sense?Can you tell I have never used any type of computer based software before?LOL.

Im gonna keep reading the help files but if someone can help me out in the meantime I would appreciate the feedback.

To recap:I just wanna cut 5 seconds off the beginning of the tune and do a fade at the end and cut the extra 60 seconds off there....I should have said that to start with eh?:eek:

Should I just go ahead and mix the whole thing down to a track master wav and THEN do the editing to the beginning and end of the song?

Short answer: yes, you should just mixdown and worry about fades during your "mastering" process.

Longer answer: you can select sections of all the files in your project by clicking and draging on the timeline at the top of the track window.

Thanks Slackmaster.

I just got to the timeline stuff in the help file.Im gonna go ahead and mixdown to 2 tracks and do the editing when I master like you said.

If I run into problems I'll be back.:eek:

Thanks again man.:)

Kramer;

I always wait till I get to the Wave and chop those extra seconds off the two track. Much easier for me anyway. ;) I consider it more as part of the Mastering process than something that is done pre-Mixdown. You'll prolly find some stuff at the ends to chop too unless you are fading it out.

Thanks for the reply Axe!I got it figured out.I mixed down to a stereo wav and took back into N-tracks and cut and faded in the Destructive Editing mode.This thing is pretty cool.;)
