ok if i go through and touch up my vocals n everything in adobe there is no extra noise at all....but when i go and use the l1 ultramaxizer even with a preset it gives this hogh floor noise....nothin real noticable but its there...if you go into spectral veiw you can see it the top of the wave...is this normal and if not any detailed suggestion on how to keep it from happening?

Since the L1 turns up ALL of the audio, then limit's the audio that would exceed the desired output level, you turn up any low level noise by the amount of gain you have produced with the plugin.

So, if you use the L1 to turn up the voice 6dB, the noise will be 6dB louder too, because ALL of the audio is 6dB louder, not just the loudest audio.

You get what I am saying?

Find out what's *causing* the noise during the recording and stop it.

While the noise may indeed by 6db higher it will seem louder unless it is the loudest element of the mix because the transients, peaks and louder program material is being limited by the L1.

Do like Massive Mastering says to do--find and eliminate the noise before pressing the magic red button.
