Question regarding Alesis ControlPad power supply

Hi,

I have an Alesis ControlPad drum controller and have misplaced the power supply. The unit uses a 6 volt 400 mA supply and I have a 6 volt 1A supply with the same tip polarity as the unit. Will this work or will I damage the unit because of the additional 600mA?

Should be fine,

Biggest factors which you have addressed are polarity and voltage. Those have to be right. As for the current, the Alesis will draw what it requires which you say is 400ma. Your power supply needs to be able to supply at least this much which it can.
