Sam Ash is running a special on the ART Tube MP Studio preamp.

I had my eye on the MP Studio V3. But the MP Studio normally lists for $10 more. With the sale, it's $20 less.

I went to ART's site and tried to compare the two. They seem very similar. Does anyone know the major differences? How does the sound quality compare? They both have phantom power right?

Thanks.

They are very similar - the V3 has "detented" positiions on the controls to help newbies adjust the preamp for specific things. One version also has an analog meter. Other than that, they're identical sounding. And yes, they both have phantom power.

I believe everything kid said is correct.

I have a couple of the Tube MPs and they work fine for a low cost basic application pre-amp.

I have beeter pre's for vocals, but I often use the MP's as a pre for micing accoustic guitar.
