question for m box users

ok it says to connect my instrument straight to the mbox. I have around 6 to 7 effect pedals that i would like to use in my recording. I also would like to use my mesa amp to record. So my question is is the only way to record my amp is to mic it. If not can someone tell me what my other option is. thanks.

To capture a amp's sound, yes you have to mic.
