although I have recently started using DAW- Presonus studio one, I sometimes want to record drums into my Zoom HD16. After reviewing the users manual it appears that when recording direct into the Zoom with the 8-track live function, you can select an "effects module" that has compression built in. However, from past experiences it does not seem to be a quality plug in like my DAW compressor, ie...not getting the same fat sound, etc.. My question is.. has anyone been able to effectively use the built in compressor effect with the ZOOM HD16 to make quality enhancements to drum recordings, or is it possible to send your drum signals from the zoom to a rack compressor and back in again? Thanks Adam:D

I would also like to know if anyone has any experience doing this! I am about to play with drum compression and am using a HD16 also.

Thanks.
