Question about guitar pricing..

How much would a '67 Gibson SG be worth? It's in really good shape, has a few nicks, maybe one major gouge (about dime size, on the back) taken out of it.

From what little I can see in that picture, the Blue Book value apears to be in the $500 to $1000 range, depending on a number of things I can not see. The thing is, as near as I can tell, they did not start offering that finish on the SG until 1971. Con't trust Gibson's serial numbers for dating one of thier guitars. They are notoriously inconsistant.

Check out Ebay and see what current and recently sold ones were sold for. That'll give you a lower end - A music store has more overhead, so they would sell it for more.... But probably give you less than what you'd get on Ebay.
