So I'm looking at this Fender head that was made "custom."

The guy selling it (whom I know and trust not to be a sleaze about sales) says that it was a custom made tube head, and that everything is point to point with no circuit board?

Anybody know what difference this would make in the amp?

Fender Custom Shop

Fender has a "Custom Shop" .... Which means that they basically build anything that Fender has produced all the way back to day one...I'm not sure exactly how to tell if it is truly a "custom shop" model or not because it takes more money than godd to buy one of these things, but if you open it up one look should tell you if it is a point to point hand soldered job or not.

Well I know it's a point to point and I can make sure it is (even thought I believe the guy) tonight.

I was just wondering what difference it would make, though?

You probably won't notice much difference in sound or anything but all the caps and resistors are hand soldered in and to repair these things would be expensive...It's mainly a vintage thing...You might like the fact that it is all hand soldered instead of some machine popping them out in Korea.
