Fucked up evolution
Yoo,
A band recorded here today , really nice guys.
Their style is a bit punkish and I really want to make an effort for these lads(16 yearold's).
After 6 hours of recording yesterday 4 today and 5 hours a week ago my ears are tired as hell
There are about 59 tracks but I chose the basic one's first and I'm going to add some thickness in the mixing process later.
Some help on mixing would be very nice
Fucked up evolution <-- Right click and dl
This is how I recorded and mixed it (If you happened to be interested)
Drum:
was a realllyy crappy one with old heads:
Kick : Shure Beta52 replica
Snare: SM57 Shure
Tom1: Fame tom mic
Floor: SM57
OL : AKG C1000
OR: Shure SM94
Room: Studio projects C1
Bass guitar
Stagg bass *shiver* on an AMPEG so that kinda adds up
1: Direct Out to Gyraf Gyractec XI
2:SM57 off-axis on speaker
3:Studio projects C1 about 1 meter away
Guitar
Gibson Les Paul Studio
Left: Mesa Boogie dual rectifier
Right: Marshall VS100
Case: Marshall 1960
SM57 and Studio projects C1 against the grill
4 takes (2 left and 2 right) on ''heavy'' distortion
2 takes (1 left 1 right) on ''light'' distortion
Mixing
Andy sneap samples on drumagog
-Original Kick + Trigger kick sent to bus and compressed 10:1 , -13thres, attack 10 , release 100
-Snare added some brightness to original and +sample sent to bus:
Compressed together on 4:1 attack 10 release 140 Thress about -13
-OH automatic compression on 2:1, -5
Guitars: bit added brightness (only using SM57 now)
Bas C4 compress with 2-6k boost, EQ boost: around 200hz
And tons of other stuff
Master compression with Waves L2
All tracks were normalized to 90 procent (so threshhold makes a bit sense
)
Mixing desk :
Soundcraft solo24
Gyraf Gyratec pre-amps on Kick Snare, bas and all the guitars
soundcraft pre-amps on: Overheads and tom mic's
