Didn't get a chance this time.

I have a new version I never uploaded...
The band is slightly defunct as of now.

I've still got my Fundamental Discord project,
A new punk/rock project with another guy,
And a "???" project with the bass player from D.A. in the works.
I'm also supposedly gonna be playing guitar in a modern rock/alternative band.

Looks like I'm gonna be busy for a while
Until each of those slowly crumbles.

I just PM'd NL5 too. :)
 
I started fooling around with this today... Mmmmm.

I'm really digging this song.

Third, the drums get smothered during the hook.

Yeah, it does seem very convoluted most of the time. I think I had so mush trouble with the drums, I overcompensated with volume on the vocals. I think I better start over. Sounds terrible this morning.

Now I leave them as they are in the mix, but I solo the drums and get them mixed to themselves first, then bring in the bass, and after that is set, the rhythm guitars. Then go for the melody instruments and lead instruments. I do the vocals last.
I am not sure how everyone else does it, but that has worked for me.

That has been my appraoch the only other times I've played with real drums. On the collabs you did. I probably will try that here, as this is out of my league, but I gotta learn something. Thanks man.

Hello everybody. Here's my first attempt at this mixing competition. Not sure if I consider this finished or not yet. I'm feeling pretty happy with it at the moment, but you know, I'll probably listen back to it again in a day or two and think it sounds like total shit. Any comments/tips on how to improve would be always be appreciated. Thanks.

Took a first shot at it today. Damn, this is gonna be more work than I thought. I thought about autotuning the backing vox but nah, it's not my vault they can't sing in tune ;)

Nice song btw. Nice vocal arrangement aswell.

First of all thanks for entering modgeulator! :)
Nice tosee some new people enter in.

I cant say thats its an amazing mix, but i will say that i couldnt find anything particularly wrong with it either.
It was just ok. maybe on a second listen you could make some minor tweeks.

Modgulator, listened to your mix. It sounded ok levels wise, but as soon as it came on it didnt grab my attention. And that is what i want a mix to do for me, grab my attention and have lots of dynamics, punch attack, sparkle clean crispness. I know there is only so much that can be done to a recording but i feel that this could be mixed better. Keep at it.
I wish i could take part in one of these mix comps. I dont have any equipment to mix with, just stuff at college and im finishing real soon. I suppose i could try and set up a mix comp of one of my tunes i have already mixed and then i could use my mix as my entry or something.
