PSU for FR2 recorder

Complete noob here.....but need the advice of some other users.

I need to buy a PSU for my FR2 and don't want to spend the money on a Fostex version. Can I use any 12v DC supply, along with the right plug? Making sure along the way that the centre pin is +.

Don't see why not. I suggest a regulated supply and make sure the capacity of the supply will meet the consumption of the FR2. The manual claims 5.7 - 10 W so anything better than 1A should do.
