Protools Problems

Hi everybody

I just bougth the Protools with Digi001, but I having problems. When I start playing, there appering a message that I,m having conflict with other CPU task, but I checked all the devices I have and I'm not seeing any conflict. The massage tells to change the Buffer setup and I did, but it doesn't work.

If anyone had the same problem, please give a advice.

It could be tons of things.....

It would help if we knew what your PC specs are. (ex. manufactor, CPU type, OS version, etc.)

I have a Dell Pentium III, Procesor Intel 450 Mghz, 512K RAM, HD 40 Gb, Windows 98.

The biggest problem is the amount of RAM you have.... typically I tell people that you need at least 128 MB minimum but the more the better.

You should really take a look at the min. requirements for using Digi001 on a PC platform. I'm almost positive you dont meet the specs for memory.

Second problem... processor size. It will work with 450 mHz but you might not be able to use to many plugins.

Get those two things taken care of and you should have no problem.

Yeah, the processor seems to be the problem here. Are you SURE it's 512...k... RAM, surely you must mean 512 MB.? I didn't think you could even GET ram that small anymore, especially on a board that accepts a 450 chip. Anyway, I have the Digi001 as well, and was running it on a 433 Celeron. I constantly got errors, and couldn't ever get more than 6 tracks or so. I rebuilt my computer with an Asus A7M133 board and a 1 gHz Athlon chip, and it FLYS now. I'm actually just using a 10 GB HD at 5400 RPM, and I can still do 15+tracks with about 2 plugins per track. I haven't tried more yet, but the computer doesn't even break a sweat doing this, so i'm sure it can do alot more. Anyway, i'd check out pricewatch and upgrade the mobo and proc. Also, that card needs ALL the PCI bus to run. If you have a PCI video card, try to get one that is AGP, it'll help a ton. If you can't upgrade any right now, at least make sure you're only running at 256 colors. That solved alot of problems for me before I beefed the computer up. Hope some of this helps!

I'd think that people would do 5 minutes of reasearch before spending almost a thousand dollars. All the incompatibility and hardware issues people have are on digidesigns website. They're much more in depth about what they won't work with than anyone else.
 
I DONT KNOW HOW TO INSTALL PLUGINS!!!

I JUST GOT MY DIGI 001 AND MAC G4/733/40 GB HD, I HAVE 1152MEGS OF RAM, IS THIS GOOD?
WELL ACTUALLY MY PROBLEM IS THE PLUG INS I GOT ON CD ROM.
I LOST THE MANUAL, ANY HOW I DONT KNOW HOW TO INSTALL THEM I HAVE A FRIEND WHO WANTS TO GIVE ME MORE BUT WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE IF I CANT INSTALL THEM?
PLEASE HELP GUYS I KNOW SOMEONE'S GOTTA KNOW???!!!
