Pros and Cons for mixer vs. control surface

Presently I base my DAW on Digital Performer, a MOTU 24 i/0 and 2408 mkII and a Mackie 24/8 mixer. What are the pros and cons for trading the mixer in for a Mackie control or similar device or keeping the mixer.

I think it's mostly just the difference between using your computer to mix or an analog board to mix. Which do you like best?
