I was thinking about upgrading from my MBox to to a ProjectMix I/O and was wondering if anyone knows if you can use inserts like a standard analog mixing board.

I have TC M-One XL and FMR RNC and want to run my stuff thru them before it hits the PC and gets thrown down.

This may help, this is what I have so far. I run a DMP3 with my vocal and acoustic/room condensor mic's and my cab's 57 and 421 to 2 VTB1's. Out from the pre's to the mixing board, the 2 outs from the board to my RNC then to the M-One, out from M-One to Mbox. Rudementary but sounds good.
Im primarily using the RNC for some slight compression and the M-One for gate/expander or gate/verb. I'm thinking old school here trying to get the sound down as they are with minimal software plugins.

If I were to use a ProjectMix I/O, it looks like there are no inserts to run the FMR RNC and M-One thru. I would like to use the firewire, but could use the analog outs to my E-Mu 0404 soundcard and do what I'm doing now?

Thanks,

Steve

No takers?
Nah.

Guess you're on your own...

As far as I can tell the competitor for the project mix which DOES have analog insert points is the Tascam 1884.

I dug a little bit and found thru the DUC that you can configure tracks to use as aux/effects sends,
