HAS ANYBODY OUT THERE CHECKED OUT CAKEWALKS NEW PROJECT 5 YET ? IS IT REALLY THAT GOOD ? DO SONAR USERS REALLY NEED IT ? IS IT THAT BIG OF A DEAL ? OR IS IT A REASON'S RIP. IS IT REALLY WORTH $250(for sonar 2.0 users $429 for everybody else) ??????????? ANYONE WITH SOME ANSWERS OR A REVIEW ?

THANKS

C.O.T.K.

OF COURSE IT'S THAT GOOD, IT'S A CAKEWALK-PROGRAM! :D

And we don't need to yell around here, I hear you perfectly good... ;)

Reviews will be out in most magazines in May. Release date is April. I saw a review here in the UK on the beta version which was quite positive.

I don't think it will be for me, I will still lust over Kontakt which I can open in Sonar.:)

Just got the new issue of Computer Music....

Project 5 got a 9/10 score! :D :D
For comparison, that's what Reason 2 and FL-Studio got... ;)

To summraize what they said...

Pro's:
The Instruments
The effects
The optimised workflow
Powerfull new mixer
It's a VST support, dammit!

Cons:
Some may miss a conventional mixer
Multitimbral synths can initially cause headaches
No Mac version ever [like we care, -Moskus :D]

You can visit www.proj5.com for more info about Project 5...

Just a thought...

If you have a Guitar Center near you you should check out there website....

Apparently Cakewalk reps are demoing Project 5 at various locations I know here in Oregon it'll be June 23 @ the Beaverton store....

Just FYI....

I work in Pro audio at GC in Chicago and our Cakewalk guy demoed Project 5 last week.

The layout seemed ultra easy but hogs a lot of space. I don't know if it supports two monitor mode, but I would certainly investigate that if you want to see all the different things P5 shows.

The DXI synths are waaay better than the ones included with Sonar. Looks like some healthy competition for Reason!
