Also ReBirth is good at that. With features like randomizing and shifting left and right you can get things to start with if you are out of ideas.
 
What ever you got man! I have hummed basslines that I thought were tight,dropped them into cool edit,add a dash of reverb,a little distortion,noize reduc,or whatever else,and voila! ill bassline.(don't tell anyone shhhhhh!)lol
