Problems With Yamaha MW10 USB Mixer

Hi Guys

So i purchased a used Yamaha MW10 from eBay last week.
I have been trying to get it working for 2 days now with no luck,
my Desktop and Laptop simply won't recognize the mixer when i plug it in via USB?

I downloaded the latest drivers from Yamaha but when i try to install it
gives me an error "25001 - No device connected"...

The guy i got it from says it's because the mixer only works with Cubase Le which
sounds like nonsense to me as it'ds supposed to be plug and play...

Any Theories or Opinions?

There was a similar problem a couple years ago...guy couldn't even make the meters ON the mixer work.

Okay, from what I've read, you may not be able to use it without cubase le. This article says you can, but doesn't say how.
