I have been using cubase VST and I have got a problem. Ok, here goes, I have recorded my guitar on "Audio 1". I click on "Audio 2" to record a different guitar riff to go along with what is on audio 1. When I stop recording and click on audio 2, to listen to it, I notice that Audio 1's music is also recorded on the track along with my new guitar riff and the new riff is hardly hearable.

If I left out pertinant information to solve this problem, please let me know. I apologize if my lingo isn't up to date as well. I am a newbie.

Ok, I have noticed that whenever I rocord and the computer makes a sound, for example the beeping noise when someone IM's me, it records it along with whatever I am playing. Is there a way to turn it off so that it only records what I have plugged into my port. I have a 1.8 athlon, 512 ram

When you record do you have audio set to global dissable? I don't know if that 's the problem, but it might be. check your audio settings to make sure that the only sound you're recording is the line input. otherwise maybe include a screen capture of your settings in your next post so someone might be able to help you out a little better.

This is gonna really sound stupid, but I don't know how to take a picture of the screen. I thought I did, but I can't figure it out. I am an idiot.

Let me know how and I will gladly show you guys the shot.

Look in the thread in the Cubase Forum here, entitled "tracks bleeding" or something like that. I just answered your question there.

are you using a mixer to connect your monitors? if you are, and also plugging your guitar trough that same mixer, you could be sending the monitor signal(track one, your first track that you are listening to while you record the second)back into the the soundcard while you are recording your second track. The monitors have to be on a seperate buss. I had a similar problem and this was the soloution. Good Luck.
