Problem with Tascam 388 - Track 8 won´t record

Hey there, any suggestions on fixing a printing problem with a Tascam 388? I bought one recently via ebay, using RMG LPR35 tape and everything seems to work fine except I can´t get anything to print on track 8 and only track 8. When recording I´m getting plenty of signal, but I when I hit playback there´s absolutely nothing there. I´m new to this forum, any help would be greatly appreciated!

Check and make sure the dbx defeat switch on the back for track 8 isn't engaged.

Outside of that try swapping the amp card that handles track 8 with another one and see if the problem follows the card.
