Hi

I have sennheiser e855 dymamic mic. Some how it has lost low and mid frequencies. What could be wrong with this mic? Can I fix it by my self?

Did it get dropped or worst? With out you knowing it.
I had a 57 with the same problem once and I took it apart to find the membrane floating while trying to fix it I pulled it right off voiding my warranty.

Sennheiser has a 10 year warranty on all of their products you should just contact themand have it replaced for free. ;)

I'm from Europe and sennheiser doesn't have that long warranty here.

It should be ten years. THe warranty is two years for sennheiser products but 10 for evolution wired mics.

Well then I hope arttig comes back to hear the good news!

In the event that it isn't covered by warranty, that sounds like a short. Probably a capacitor that failed shorted. I got that sound out of a mic I was modding once. I'm not sure if the film cap was bad from the factory or if I just got it too hot.... Either way, that's the sound I got—a very weak sound with nothing but highs.

Hey dgatwood can a capacitor work some times and not others. Or are they a work ~ not work item.
