Hi,

Have a problem again.. this time it's with my Fostex B-16 recorder.
I switched it on and the recording/ playback speed is like 10 times slower than normal.

The pieces I had recorded already were (of course) played back at a abnormal low pitch, and when recording and playing that back, the quality is like I was recording in a swimming pool.

Rewinding and FF are still at the normal speed...

It's not the pitch knob, the speeds I can choose with that are way less extreme, and disabling the pitch-function doesn't help. But you do, don't you..? :D Thanks again!

Yep, I had the same problem when I has my B-16...I found out it was the (don't know the proper name) driver belt, that is, the big rubber belt that goes 'round the motor that turns the spindles...I took the back or the front off mine and wrapped the belt back 'round where it should go, but it happend again and again...if it does then you should have the belt replaced and you should be set again....Hope this helps!..

Oh yeah, your rewind and ff are still cool, because the B-16 uses differ transport motor to the play moter...

Thanks mate! I will try it out. Hope it works, the B-16 doesn't belong to me...

er.. I opened the back of the Fostex, saw a lot of stuff, but no belt, actually.

Could you please describe where you found it and how you fixed it. If you've got the time, a simple bmp-drawing to illustrate (with a big arrow :D) would be great, I'm really un-technical.. Thanks!

Oh nevermind, I looked a little better and saw the belt.. problem solved!

Again.... thanks!
