I bought some starter's home recording gear years ago and I recorded one song with it. I remember the phantom power produced a loud buzz but somehow I managed to record a song anyway. Now that I've plugged everything back in, I just can't figure it out.
I'm using the Line6 UX2 on my laptop. I have a Behringer C1 attached that requires the phantom power. However, when I turn on the phantom power, an extremely loud buzz/beep is produced. Those things that show the volume on the UX2, sorry, I don't know the English word for them, move all the way to the right even before I've started talking or singing into my mic. It's impossible to record anything this way. Does anybody recognize this problem? I don't know what to do
