problem with fd8

Hi there!

We´ve bought a fd8 recently and equipped it with an internal ide drive ourselves. Recording works, but there are alway some disturbing sounds on the tracks afterwards...fostex-website says you need at least software version 1.11 or 1.21 in order to use an internal drive - how do I know which software version I have?
Or is the HD more likely to be the problem (it´s an older one...)?

I'm having disturbing sounds as well to say the least. I'm using an external orb drive.

I think its the damn fostex. So far tech support has been rude and dodged responsibility. I'm going to have it out with them this week or early next week. I'll let you know how it goes.
