Problem with AKG D880 mic?

Hi, new to this forum. I have a AKG D880 Emotion mic, which I bought about 4 years ago. Recently, I've noticed a lot of mid-freq's in the recording, like the mic is completely missing its warmth that it used to have. I have the completely same setup as I did before, except Cool Edit Pro 2.0 instead of 1.1., and I can clearly tell the difference while listening to older records. Is the mic really broken?
 
Hmmm, I don't know. If you have a cable tester... test the mic cable. Or if you have another mic cable that you know is good... try using it and see if that's the problem or not. I hate it when stuff like that happens... anyway, good luck.
 
Yeah I'm going to the city buy a new cable. Really frustrated with this one, 3 days worth of recording behind and I notice this :(
