Hi,
i am trying to import a wav file from a cd from my Akai recorder(tried numerous different cds from my akai ) onto my Tascam 2488 neo ( i just bought ).I am basically lost,i did everything the one paragraph in the manual mentions to do.It just spits all the cd disc ( data disc ) out.Now I put a wav file of drum tracks from a drummer who helps me with drum tracks, that loaded ok.I loaded a wav file from another drummer that did not load. All these easily load into my Akai without a problem. is there something i am missing ?
thanks,
Jim

Not sure how much you know about the neo, but the only possibility for why it may load one WAV and not another is the fact that stereo WAVs and mono WAVs are found in different folders in the import menu; that is, if you can't find the track on the neo. If it shows up but won't load maybe you need to look at the properties of the file and make sure it matches the supported file types on the neo. Other than that, without more information, you got me.

I never load from a CD though, I always use the USB.

Maybe take your data files from the CD to the computer and convert them?

Hi,
basically what i had to do was, load the CD into my computer, and load the file into Audacity. The file was 16 seperate tracks, but 2 tracks were stereo,,in Audacity i was able to assign the 2 stereo tracks to individual mono tracks, now all 16 tracks are mono files. From there I saved the wav file onto my computer, then used the USB,doing this, i haven't had a problem.so i guess the NEO seen the file on the CD as a stereo file.
