gimmi your mic!
I have a Marantz dual-well professional CD recorder which I've hooked up to my digital mixer via lightpipe. The idea was to be able to burn mastered CDs for demo submission. Now, it turned out that with almost any of the CD-R/W I can buy at stores, there are drop-out errors. Do you think that CD burner needs professional CDs (not CD-Rs?) What media do you use for CD duplication?

Thanks!

My guess is that CDRs would have fewer errors than CDRWs. I use Memorex CDRs, which are inexpensive and have a low error rate.

Have you tried a slower record speed? Every once in awhile I'll get a batch of CDRWs that just give me grief. I "seem" to have had better luck slowing down the write speed say 2x instead of 4x. It's worth a shot.

The Marantz can only record at 2x speed. So whats the difference between CD-R and "professional" CD blanks? Should I switch to those?

You shouldn't be using CD-RWs for audio CDs........ use CD-Rs.
