Hello again friends,

This is probably a bunch to ask, but I was hoping I could get some listens of a 6 song EP I just got finished with. These are the first "finals". I say "finals" because I just sent them to the band asking for a critique, and I hope others here will have another perspective. I'm sure there are tweaks to be made still.
If you only listen to one, please make it a bit random and not all the first track! Although the first track would be fine as well of course :D
If you give some advise for all, I'd be forever grateful!

Thanks!

Wolves,
Sounds a little like a rockabilly Arctic Monkeys.
I like it - the piano doesn't sit too well though.
The stereo image seems pretty narrow except for the cymbals.
The bass needs a little definition in some parts - occasionally it steps up - but often is just a bottom endy blur.
I like the song.

I listened to Wolves. i really liked the guitar sounds. I liked the playing. The guitar just had a cool vibe to it. Singing was good too.

The drums sounded a bit "small roomy." But it's not noticeable when the other instruments kick in.

I thought the bass was a little low in the mix.

The vocal sounds like it's in a different space from the rest of the instruments. It's kind of a general issue - the tracks need a little more cohesiveness. But it's most noticeable on the vocal. It just seems out of place with the rest of the tracks.

You might want to compress the vocal a little harder. A word or two here and there gets covered by the guitar.

Rayc, Thanks for your comments. I'll see what I can do with the Piano and Bass. As for the narrow image, that was pretty intentional on my part, at least in the verses. The panning of the rhythm guitars changes from really narrow in the verses to wide in the choruses. Do you suppose the overhead panning should change with that?

TripleM, thank you as well. The drums are in a small room because they were tracked in a small studio space. Adding a universal reverb to them kinda disconnected them from everything else too much so I went with just the mono room mic for some space. Each piece of the kit has a blend reverb that's on pretty much everything though.
Listening back, the bass is too low, I agree.
Man, Vocal space is something I can never get right. Do you have any pointers on how to accomplish the same room as everything else? I could try to add a bit more of my blend verb to them I suppose...
More compression? No problem!:D haha
