Pro Tools Setup...

I am looking at upgrading my PT system. I have an MBox now with 7.4, I am looking at getting something like a 003 system. I have a few questions about this first of all, I want to know if I add like an A/D convertor by way of lightpipe will Pro Tools see those additional 10 inputs?? And my other question is if I have outboard gear is it possible to use a patch bay with a 003 system?? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

yes. with a 003, you can have up to 18 (or maybe 16?) simultaneous inputs & outputs with pro tools. 8 analgue, 8 ADAT lightpipe, 2 spdif.
