Pro Tools 8 wont work!

I bought 4GB of RAM for under £50 for my Macbook. For hardly any money, it's the single best upgrade you can do to a computer.

You can run Tools on 1GB; it will do better with 2GB, but why not get 4GB?

I find that Leopard takes 1.5GB of RAM quite easily when not under much load. Hell knows what it does with it all.

That one looks better, but it's still quite a way behind the current core 2 duo models.

Thing is I don't know if I cannot afford one of those models, they're pretty pricey aren't they. Hard disk size shouldn't matter too much right?

Well brand new they start from £499 so you should be able to find cheaper second hand...

It's not really worth skimping too much because you're going to regret it down the line.

Hard disk space isn't too important as you should be recording to an external drive anyway - at least in the case of the Mac Mini (as it can have only one internal drive).

Been searching around, and it's pretty complex to find the right one. All the newer models with better specs come installed with 10.6 making it difficult to find one with decent specs with 10.5

Also it seems silly to me that they've removed the VGA input on the new models, so you have to buy a Mac Monitor  typical...Just more money!
