Hey this was pretty good. There are however a few spots where the vox are out of key. Your guitar playing is quite good. I think if worked on a bit this could be just excellent. Keep posting man!

Thanks for the listen Analyitical man. My Vox being off key in places is my trademark-lol. Yeah , I really try..... I will be working on the vocs. I really have to try hard on them cause Im not a singer. Thank you for the gtr playing comments. Thats mainly what I am.

Cool guitar parts!

Can you cut some of the high end from the drums?

Overall the mix is suffering from too much reverb when you have more than 3 or 4 elements going. It's not really bad during the verses, but gets a little rough during the buildups.

There are some cool ideas here, especially in the guitar.

Your voice has a lot of potential. Keep recording it, and learn from those recordings!

Sluice: I tried something different on the drum track and compressed it and used the BBE Sonic max before adding anymore tracks. It gave me a lot more head room. I can hear now that it has too much high range. ( I remixed and shelfed the high's)
I didnt use much verb, just delay and Im sure too much of that. I was trying to get the 80's Yes sound so theres my excuse-lol
Thanks for the listen.

i'm not sure about the 'pop metal' classification, but i like it.....:D

definitely not overly poppy......some very nice guitar playing.....the tones are nice too.......the drums sound a little lo -fi compared to the mix.....some cleaner drums could make the track come out a little clearer.....maybe that's from the mp3 encoding though....who knows.........

Powderfinger, Do you consider the DR-670 lo-fi?lol. I had a drummer and unfortunantly my DR-670 was better. Hell Im better, just need a set. Ive played drums in the past although Im mainly a gtr player/songwriter
Good drummers are so hard to find in Oregon...
Thanks for the listen

the opening guitar line is cool. very interesting. all the guitars are played very well.

drums sound a little midi like but drums are difficult to do without drums :). drums also sound a little aggressive in the high end here. maybe they just sound over processed. i don't know, they just sound like what you get from a drum machine but again, without a kit and a bunch of mics and a room.....etc....etc, what are you gonna do?

Honestly, I'm not sure. As I said, it's possible that it was the mp3 encoding or something, but the drum track kind of lacked the clarity of most music in this genre........

Erichenryus , I agree about the drum sounds. I almost cant stand the drum machine's sound. Im really trying hard to find a good drummer.
Thanks for the listen

Powder, Im realizing how bad the Mp3 encoding really is and I post songs with 160 kbps. Im thinking about getting a drum set and more mics, but I also need to get some keys. I cant have both right now.

Nice song Myx, i liked the guitar work, i don't think the drums sound bad for a machine. Did you pan them across the field? I feel like the tom rolls cover the entire width.

Some of the feel gives me a Phil Collins sense of instrumentation. I like those power chords that appear at 3:14. Cool stuff.

Khompewtur , My drum machine is set up to pan the drums and cymbals. The toms sound the best out of all the drum sounds....Cant seem to get a good snare or cymbal sound. I suppose if I actually sat down and figured out my drum machine more I could program it better-lol....
Thanks for the listen

i like this arrangment, placement, and levels mix. Id brighten the guitar a tad. I can see o the analyzer where you notched the music bed in the mids a little and let the vox fill the valley back up. Cool deal. Those drums sound like a lot of canned drums. For some reason they are hi and low freq accentuated, with the mids scooped really bad, right out of the can. I wonder what these guys think when they load them into a lot of these machines, like maybe "well nobody has midrange, just wnat to fill the subs and tweeters" . If you could make that smiley face eq pic that the drums come with, a little more flatline, it might introduce a little bit of a more acoustic sound for you.

For me the tempo is too slow for this kind song, or maybe break into a tempo change after the intro.

"So I've been searching..." here's where you could go harder on the drums, double it up, build the dynamics.

Nice backing vocals

Some interesting stuff happening. Overall I hear the distinct marring influence of the Sonic Maximiser. I'm just not a big fan of that thing.

But the thing that leaps out at me is the drums - too much low end and high end. And sounds like a bunch of verb on the kick? Or am I totally confused?

I have a feeling that if all the artificial harmonic excitment was removed, and the drums were tinkered with a little, this would be pretty sharp.

Cool song.

Guitars sound good, I like the flow of the cleans. The lead solo part however seems to sit too far at the back. The drums aren't bad, though the hi hats sound a little harsh. Voice is pretty good but feels just a wee bit too up front. Btw, if these observations are inaccurate its probably because Im listening to this on PC speakers. Overall though, I think its pretty nice. Songwriting is nice as well.

it does have that big metal 'ballad' type feel.. cool song! nice intro..

similar problems to your other tune.. good tone to your voice, but also a bit out of key.. once you nail that problem you'll be a great singer, so keep doing it..

maybe you shouldn't have put BBE on the drums... also the groove got a bit iffy later on, as far as what was happening against the drum beat.. like when the vocal harmonies started, the drums didnt groove as well with the change of music..

good song.. I checked this out a few days and forgot to reply..
