Presonus Studio one

Here is the issue. I am using Presonous Studio one as my DAW. I am trying to map the MINILAB to it. When I select Midi learn and try to turn the knobs and pads on the machine nothing happens. I have made sure that the firmware has been updated on the Minilab and I have even updated the latest version of my DAW and still no luck. I have also removed it and re-entered as a new external device on Studio one to see if that would work and still no luck. I am running this on a MAC. Any insight that you could provide would be very helpful. I have contacted both Arturia and Studio one and neither of them were helpful. I even went to Guitar Center and Sam Ash and they were scratching their heads:wtf:
 
AFAIK there are several forms of MIDI "control"?
Years ago I bought son Cubase Essentials 4 and it worked fine except when I bought a Tranzport wireless MIDI device. The Tranzport needed Mackie Control and that was not supported by Cubase Ess4.

I moved on to Cubase Elements 6 and all was cool. N.B. Samplitudes, even the basic ones seem to cater for all MIDI control variants?
