So the new Macbook Pros only have a Firewire 800 port. The Firestudio works on 400. If i used a 400 to 800 convertor for recording, would that effect the process in any way? Like add latency or something?
 
The new Macbook Pro's only have 800? I hope there is no problem converting. That would have been a stupid move for Mac, making tons of usable gear obsolete. Glad mine isn't brand new then. I have both. :)
 
Be aware if you are considering Presonus equipment that their technical "support" has gotten to be absolutely horrendous. They don't answer phones (I spent nearly an hour on permahold a couple of times) and take forever, if at all, to respond to emails (I have an issue with a Firestudio that came back from repair and have been emailing since March 30 with no response).
