Last nite at band practice I set up a recording rig to capture ideas. It consisted of 2 AKG C1000 mics positioned on the ceiling in the middle of the room > Presonus Bluetube > Presonus BlueMax > Phillips CDR880. It took a few songs to get the levels set since I was playing as well. The end result was pretty good but still needs tweaking. I just got the Presonus stuff so I'm still learning them, I noticed the drive control on the BlueTube made the Drums fuzzy quick! And the BlueMax sounded like it was "pumping" alot, I used Stereo presets 1 and 2. I may have had the input and output controls not set just right? Or should I have not used the compressor at all? What are some good settings for these units for this type of application? I planned on dubbing the good takes to another recorder.Any tips and info is greatly appreciated!
