Hey,
Sorry about that last post. It did not make much sense. I was not very clear. Anyway, I was just wondering if the precision drum dial or the Tama tension watch actually work. Anyway, any info is appreciated.
Thanks

I'm sure they work, just a glorified torque wrench(if that's the product your talking about). They will get you 'in range'. But there is a prerequisite and that is, you have to *know* what sound your after, and what works for what your doing, and what works best for your drums. Torque wrenches will get you to 'a' point faster, but what point is it?. You would have to be very familiar with your setup. That's all that I'm saying. It's still tweak tweak tweak. No way around it. Those devices remind me of the battery powered guitar tuner things they had out years ago. Maybe they still do?

I didn't read your last post. If your new to drums, it's best to learn how to tune them in the most basic way. Lots of sites out there about tuning drums I'm sure. Maybe someone can provide some links.

What specifically is it about your drum sound that is causing you grief? It's not rocket science but it takes a lot of time an patience to tune drums.

Opps, not Voxvender but Vox. I can't keep these handles straight.

Thanks a lot SBax. That is exactly what I needed to hear. I think that I will buy one because I am fairly profficient in tuning by ear but I want to be able to do it faster. Anyway, I appreciate it.

these things aren't serious right? i just saw one in a catalogue for $195aussie$ (about $100u.s.).... i'd rather buy a $2 key and use my ears and save the other $197 for something more important, like beer.... i think we are all being had, well and truly....
