When micing an amp and then going into my computer do i need a preamp...if so would the cheap preamps on say a behringer mixer be sufficient?

You would want a preamp and I would say that no, the preamps on the behringer mixer would no be sufficient... However, the decision is ultimately yours. I have discovered that the behringer preamps on the mixers are absolutely terrible. If you need a preamp, you could try to grab and audio interface that already has preamps, or you could look for individual preamps. I guess all of this depends on what your budget is.
