Wouldn't normalizing just amplify the characteristics of the track? Sure some nuances would be lost, but others would be brought to the forefront for better or worse...

I am immediately reminded of the rich smell of tanned leather and the feel of the wind against my face during a warm fall day.
In stark contrast, preamp B demonstrates a rich fullrange clarity combined with the comfort of a billowy soft cloudlike fluffiness which both seem to explode simultaneously producing a texture that is quite subtle and yet also very defined. These qualities only occasionally overshadow a bit of smooth graininess that is never harsh but rather very satisfying. I could say that this preamp brings to mind the smell of aged wood and the feel of the wind against my face during a mild spring day.
