hey im thinking about buying one of these i found someone whos selling it for $300, i just want people opinions on it. like is it worth it, any flaws i should know about?

also im new to firewire so would i jut go all my instrument>firepod>computer through the usb?

I bought mine around September and run Reaper, ass kicker in my opinion.
 
You would use a firewire cable and port, not usb. I was considering getting it, but decided against it because of the many mixed feelings about it. But, it is the only interface in that price range that has those routing capabilities. If you do a search on here about it you will find tons of threads about it.

two firepods with vista?

it's good to know that one firepod works well with vista..... is there anyone that has used vista with two firepods. i've had good success running two on XP (i had to update the firmware in the firepods and everything in order to run them together). If I move over to XP, will i have to update the firmware in each firepod again? has anyone successfully made the switch?
 
I haven't tried two yet but if I find one cheap I might get it and find out.;)
 
I've been happy with mine...I record drums through it, and it's worked flawless so far.

so theyr combination jacks right like i can plug my acoustic pickup in to and all that right?

You mean the inputs? They are either mic inputs or line in if that's what you mean.
 
I've had mine for awhile now. They sound nice. They even have decent preamps built-in.

On the front panel inputs 1&2 are mic/instrument inputs, and 3-8 are mic/line inputs.
