pre-amp

I'm using a Yamaha MT4X 4-track cassette-based recorder for my mobile recording. I also use an AKG C1000s condenser and an Alesis Nanocomp. Any suggestions for pre-amping this mic?

just to add that the AKG C1000s is absolutely amazing. especially on vocals.

JoeMeek VC3Q is a great pre and you will get a compressor along with it.
