Not sure if everyone is familiar with this plug-in or not, but I have recently started using "Neodynium" from elemental audio and it is an amazing variation on compression.

http://www.elementalaudio.com/products/neodynium/

Rather than traditional multiband compressors, it allows you to compress 4 seperate "zones" of input levels. Meaning you can compress from a -6 threshold a certain amount, and from -12 to -6 a certain amount, etc, etc....
Also it allows filters on the "key" input, or the input which triggers the compression including a sidechain, so you can get extremely surgical with your compression. It has a very intuitive graphical interface and sounds terrific.
A very useful tool, I just wanted to spread the word in case people have never heard of this. ;)

yeah, actually i just bought the pro bundle not too long back (the one with Equim and Firium in it).
definitely a smart idea to have a multi-dynamic compressor. kind of difficult to use at first, and I'm still trying to get used to it all. But for $259 you get the compressor and two EQs.
The Firium is really cool too how it can help even out two takes that were recorded in separate places (good for Post work...which I do).

I just bought the pro bundle myself and now it also includes "Finis", a nice limiter plug-in. I know it is bad to mention the word "limiter" :D but it does a really nice job as well!
Equium, Firium, Neodynium, and Finis for $349

whew you scared me
you must have gotten the Max bundle then...not the Pro
The Max has the Finis in it. I just bought the pro a few weeks ago and would have been pissed if I missed out on the Finis too!!!!
