...and bring some scotch
Hi all,

I haven't been on the forums in quite a while, but I hope you guys won't mind trying to help me out here. My singer and I have "acquired" a professional recording studio (rent free :D). Everything is there minus the gear that was stripped before the last guys split. I am trying to figure out how to best supply power the headphones jacks.

There are about 11 jacks throughout the studio all fed from one main wire, which starts in the control room, goes throughout the entire live room and into a back vocal booth / isolation room. It is a long, long run of cable. I don't want to go spend $300-500 on a typical headphone/monitor amp to find out it's underpowered...:drunk:

Anyone have any idea what I should be doing here? Will the typical headphone amp do the trick and I'm worried about nothing? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks,
Pete

So all of the headphone jacks are sharing to same main line? If that's the case then a standard headphone amp should do the trick.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I think it's going to work out with a standard headphone amp. Today I ran the
headphone out from my Saffire Pro 40 and it powered the phones with reasonable levels. Could use a bit more
juice so I'm pretty confident that a regular headphone amp should do the trick. Thinking about the Furman HA6-AB
(B-Stock $259) because of the additional power amp capabilities, but I am open to other ideas if anyone can
recommend something better.
