I have a Behringer UB-1204 PRO Eurorack mixer.
it is unpowered but it has that Phantom Power thing.
I just wanted to know if i could get sound out of the mixing board without using a power amp. Like when everything is being recorded can i listen to whats being played through speakers or headphones or do i need a power amp or something. ALso if i had the mixing board hooked up to teh computer
and there was 80 watt stereo integrated speakers hooked up to teh computer would i be able to get any sound out of this?

ACtually to make this easier,CAn i get sound out of the mixer's headphones or speakers or computers headphones or speakers if i'm using a BEhringer UB-1204 PRO Eurorack mixer or do i need a power amp or something?

sorry this i sreally confusing.

You'll always be able to hear what's going on through the headphones, but since it is not a powered mixer it does not have any amplifier to drive speakers. To use speakers, you would either need to get a power amp for them, or you would need to use active speakers (which have built-in power amps).

It's possible that you could rig it through your computer as you mentioned, but that would be a lot of trouble and it would be difficult to control the volume.

Phantom power is a technology used by condenser microphones, but has nothing to do with output to speakers.

what do you mean to "drive speakers"?

Also once it's recorded onto the computer i can listen to it right through my computer speakers right?

And one more question
If i were to get Active moniters would the mixer than act like a mini PA system?

All speakers have to have power to make them work, hence, "drive speakers"

Yes, after you record into your compuer you can use the computer speakers to monitor playback.

Yes it would ack like a PA

Hopes that helps you understand. :D

Ok, first of all, have you read the manual?? These are very simple, basic questions you are asking and even a rudimentary perusal of the connections would give you an answer.

That said, you can monitor through headphones without a power amp. If you want to connect speakers, they will either have to be powered monitors or you will need a power amp or, as a last resort, you could run the outputs to your home stereo and monitor through those speakers.

We explained to you in your other thread how to connect the mixer to the computer.

In asnwer to the question: Yes, you could use the speakers connected to your computer, but those are not usually very good.

Ted
