power amp question for monitors

i have for the past year or so been powering my monitors with and older home stereo amplifier. my monitors are decent rokit passive monitors and so my question is: I'm considering purchasing a used qsc 1200 power amp to replace the home stereo thing. WOuld you expect anychange in sonic quality from the monitors with this upgrade.
