I Am looking at rearranging my setup. It is a little hacked together now and I was thinking I might get some good Ideas if a few of you would be willing to post some pictures.

Thanks

When you go to this site, all the way in the lower right is "Midimonkey". On that page are pictures of my homemade hutch (which I just re-did since it was a bit small).

I can also email you pictures of my new console table, but they are too big to post on this forum. Email me at midiguy732@hotmail.com and I can send you a few photos, both loaded so you can see the gear and unloaded, so you can see how it was built (more or less).

Here's mine. If the picture makes it look small, it's because it is.

The pics also much brighter than it really is down there.

Ok, here's mine. I'm still moving things around in here in the racks, and I'm not done with the room yet, but it'll give you an idea. Oh yeah, and my digital camera sucks!

Thanks everyone!!!!!

I have been looking over the links you sent and it gives me some Ideas. I am not quite in the League of a lot of the guys out there but am working slowly at it. I am now in a house that I hope to sell in a few years if you know what I mean. So I am trying to use what I have as best as I can without modifying my house too much. I do have the run of 2 bedrooms side by side, which is nice. I have a snake running threw the wall. I would love a window but I am not sure about undoing it later. next house is going to be a keeper and I am hoping to have a full basement to do with as I wish:)

Anyway thanks for the ideas guys. Really good stuff!!!!:)

looked at your stuff midimonkey cool. coming along great!!

Michael, very nice

You set up is very classy. It seems like a 90 or 45 degre station would be very easy to navigate.

Thanks F.S Like I say, the pics don't really do the room justice.
(I need a better digital camera!)
The control station is set up in a corner of the room. That gives me a 90 degree "L" shape. Very easy to work with. Remember the "working triangle" from kitchen designs? "L" shapes, and "U" shapes are the easiest to work with. Also, more importantly, being set-up in a corner, you don't get early reflections from the side walls, or at least they are minimized.

Hey Michael, didn't you used to have Reveals or something like that? When did you get the Events? Anything else in there that's new?

Here is mine.It is hard to tell from these fuzzy pics, but the rack space to the right of the console at the far end was a closet that I turned into a mini machine room.
I thought thes new fangled digital cameras were supposed to take sharp pics. oh well...........

That would be me. And yes, I am set up to do Surround Sound Monitoring. 5.1 or 6.1
It is cool, and you can definately create some amazingly lush soundscapes; but 2 things:
1.) If you think mixing in stereo is tough, well, surround sound gives you a wider palette, but you really have to plan your compositions.
2.) Like I said its really cool, but unless I can drag someone into the studio, and say "Hey, sit down, listen to this", it doesn't do you much good without a DVD burner.
My software will author and encode for surround sound, but authoring & encoding , and burning to DVD are 2 different animals.

I still have the Reveals, yes. I got the Events for my BD!! Christmas Eve. The Boston Grand I've had since July, pretty new. I just got another Fatar keyboard about a week ago; the SL-990. A few more mics in the locker. Thats about it.

That's cool. I didn't see the Reveals peeking around the corner. Damn fine setup!

Tell ya what I'll do.

When I get home tonight, I'll spend a little time making them smaller in size, and I'll post them to this BBS. About six pictures in all.

Thank you :)

The pictures on the midimonkey page actually is the "old design". I significantly outgrew that hutch thing before I even finished it (I'm an e-bay addict), so I have some new pictures to post.

Back later this evening!
