Portastudio Flutter Problems

Hi guys. I just bought a used Portastudio 464. It seems to work great and sounds good. There is however one problem, when I play back a recording the sound moves in and out of pitch. It must be something with the tape mechanism, is there an easy way to solve this problem? I have an old 414 as well, would it be possible to take parts from that to fix it? Thanks in advance.
 
There's a guy on Ebay selling complete matched belt kits for every known porta for $20.
 
I think I may have solved the problem. I opened the case and disconnected the cable from the pitch wheel that attaches to the main circuit board. I need to play around some more today and see if it's totally fixed.
 
After using it lots today I can confirm that the problem is fixed. The problem seems to be the pitch/speed wheel, any ideas how I could fix it so I can still use it? Thanks again!
 
I was having problems using track 4 but I figured this one out too. I guess turning off the sync switch on the back made it work! I didn't even know it was there! haha
