Portable Room Treatment

I'm in a situation where I can't dedicate a room for recording, so I'm trying to improvise. I have a few broad band absorbers made from doubled-up OC 703. If you take two of these and place them vertically and lay a third on top you have a self-supporting unit. If I make some more of these, I could surround my recording space (mostly guitar and vocals) and make a sort of booth. I realize this would result in a pretty dead sound, but this would certainly be preferable to standing waves etc...

What do you all think? I've you have no dedicated space to record or mix and you have to set up and tear down after each session, could a system of portable room treatments be worthwhile. If so, how would you configure it?

Thanks in advance for sharing your collective wisdom!

Even though I have a dedicated room, I hang them from the wall, stand them in the corners. That way, all of mine can be taken with me if I do remote recording. Really not a bad way to do it.

Cool. Thanks for the feedback. I think I'll make some more of these broadband absorber gobos.
