Hey guys...

When I try to record with any mic thru the firepod into cubase le, there's always a load of clicks and pops that screw up the entire recording.

I've tried new cables, all the drivers are updated, made the latency as large as possible, etc.

What should I do??

Thanks for the help,

Mike

Check in the instructions for details about latency settings. Read up on it, it's really great stuff! I been reading about it for 2 years straight now, and it just gets better and better. Man, latency!

Look, I don't know, I speculate a latency issue. Of course it could ba a lot of other things as well.

All the best, keep on truckin'

could be your firewire connection on your mainboard or your graphics card. I have exactly the same problem with a fairly high spec PC dual processor etc... and the fact is when i bring the firepod downstairs and use it on my dad computer which is less quick in every area but has a better mainboard, it works fine?

I e-mailed presonus yesterday to find out what they think.

Try downloading the lastest driver off their site (damn i just read your post), I want to do that but I concluded it was death or glory with my msi, and did a really really shady bios flash, with an old bios, the result - well i can see the first page from startup!! :D

So now im getting a new board. The way the popping and clicking was before made the thing useless. On the upside the playback made my last cd player/soundcard sound rubbish! The firepod has a mean sound clarity to it.

pops and clicks

Hello, visit this page:

http://www.presonus.com/compatibility.html

Look at the bottom on Hardware Incompatibility

I'm getting pops with my new Toshiba with ATI
video chips with a Lexicon Omega which works
fine on a Compaq with Intel video chips.

Haven't solved that yet.

Best of luck.
